1. Who we are

BEST MOVE — The Better Movers is a family-owned moving company based in Simi Valley, California, operating since 1985 under CAL-T #188876. You can reach us on (805) 375-0765. We answer 7 days, 7:30am – 6:30pm.

This policy covers this website and the phone calls, text messages and emails we exchange with customers about their moves.

2. What we collect

Information you give us. When you ask for a quote — through the form on this site, over the phone, or by text — we collect your name, phone number, the addresses you are moving between, and the details of the move itself. You may also give us an email address and notes about the job. If we do the move, our invoice and job records hold the same kind of information.

Information collected automatically. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It measures traffic, not identities — we cannot tell who you are from it, and we do not try. It sets its own cookies; you can block them in your browser or with an extension and this site will work exactly the same.

One cookie of our own. If you dismiss the welcome banner at the top of the site, we store a single value in your browser (bm_launch_dismissed) so it stays dismissed. It contains no identifier and tells us nothing about you.

Spam protection. When a quote form is submitted we briefly record the submission along with the sending IP address and browser, to keep automated junk out of our inbox. See section 7 for how long we keep it.

We do not run advertising on this site. There are no ad networks, no remarketing pixels and no third-party trackers beyond the analytics described above.

3. Text messaging

We use the phone numbers our customers give us to communicate about their move: confirmations, scheduling, follow-ups after the job, and invitations to share feedback or leave a review. Our text line is (805) 624-8882.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages; reply HELP for help. We honor opt-outs immediately and permanently.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchasing any services. You can book a move with us without ever agreeing to a text, and we will call you instead.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, excluding the messaging platform providers that deliver our messages.

4. How we use information

We use what you give us to:

• work out an accurate price and answer your questions
• schedule and carry out your move
• reach you on the day, and follow up after the job
• ask whether we did well, and invite a review
• keep our own records for tax and insurance
• improve how the website and our service work

We do not sell personal information. We never have. We do not pass your details to other movers, to lead brokers, or to anyone buying a list — which, given how much of this industry runs on exactly that, is worth saying plainly.

5. Who we share it with

Only with the companies that help us operate, and only for that purpose. Each one handles a specific job:

• Website hosting — Cloudflare, which serves this site and stores the short spam-protection records described above
• Email delivery — Resend, which delivers quote requests from this site to our office
• Analytics — Google Analytics, as described in section 2
• Text messaging — the messaging platform that delivers our texts

We may also share information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to establish or defend a legal claim. Nothing else. Your information is never sold and never shared for anyone else's marketing.

6. Your choices

• Texts — reply STOP to any message and we will stop, immediately and permanently.
• Calls and email — tell us and we will take you off the list.
• Access or deletion — ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, and we will. Some records we have to keep for tax and insurance; we will tell you if that applies and delete the rest.
• Analytics — block cookies in your browser, or use Google's opt-out add-on.

If you live in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale — and we do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of. Exercising any of these rights costs you nothing and we will not treat you differently for asking.

7. How long we keep it, and how we protect it

Quote requests that do not turn into a job are kept while we are still in touch about the move. Records for completed jobs — the invoice, the job notes — we keep for as long as tax and insurance rules require, which is several years.

The spam-protection records mentioned in section 2 are short-lived: the submission log expires after 30 days, and the counters that catch repeat automated submissions expire within a week.

We use reasonable safeguards to protect what we hold, including encryption in transit across this website. No system is completely secure, and we will not claim otherwise — but we keep as little as we can, for as short a time as we can, which is the part that actually reduces the risk.

This site is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

8. Changes, and how to reach us

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new effective date. This version is effective September 26, 2026.
